Insight to Position and Opening
The company has contracted ‘Sales Rep’ throughout the states (not all territories), and one of the main tasks is to manage those outside reps.
There are 2-3 customer service staff, and 1-2 sales staff (currently 0) under this position.
Sales results do not heavily rely on the management’s strategies, but company rather have some loyal customers. However, to mitigate the risks, and for the steady growth, the company needs someone who can develop new market both products and area with strategic planning.
Basic Function
Achieving growth and meeting sales goals and gross profit goals by successfully managing the sales team and independent sales representatives
Train and support growth of sales team staff
Develop and implement new sales initiatives, and strategies to promote new products and to penetrate new market
Essential Duties
- Achieve growth and meet sales goals and gross profit goals by successfully managing the sales team and independent sales representatives.
- Motivate team members and promote positive work environment
- Train and support growth of sales team staff.
- Perform sales analysis to develop plans and strategies
- Attend trade shows to promote products, and expand customer base.
- Meet with sales reps and customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of the company’s relationship with them
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers (reps and distributors)
- Provide high quality customer services
- Attend seminars and trainings, and convey new ideas/trends/industry updates to members of the company
- Prepare sales projections for effective production planning and purchasing activities.
- Prepare and manage sales forecast and department budget
Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use his hands. This position requires work in an office setting but does require up to 50% travel. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight. The employee must frequently lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift 100 pounds.
Education / Work Experience
- At least five years of field sales experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent to 5 years of sales management experience
- Attributes/skills:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must be self-motivated, team player, detail-oriented and driven with a high level of initiative.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments.
- Ability to work as a member of the team to create successful organizational situations.
- Must have good oral and written communications skills.
- Must have general knowledge of business, sales, and manufacturing tools.
- Must be proficient in Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office software
