PPS is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality/Lab Technician for our aluminum extrusion facility near Eugene. The Lab Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide mechanical testing of extruded material in accordance with customer requirements and ASA (Aluminum Standard Association) guidelines. As part of the Quality Department, the Lab Tech will also ensure that activities are performed and documented in accordance with quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Operate tensile testing equipment safely and accurately.
• Perform and train employees on measuring techniques to adhere to the tolerances set forth by the ASA
• Conduct quality inspections on aluminum before, during and after all processing is completed.
• Retrieve and document data per our customers’ requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean quality lab and manufacturing area.
• Promote the highest quality product, assist in the leadership and support of the Quality Management System.
• Other duties as assigned. Adaptive to non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

• A High School Degree or equivalent is preferred
• Minimum of 2-year experience in the aluminum extrusion industry (preferred not required)
• Excellent organizational skills and technical capabilities
• Strong basic math and communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal or no supervision
