Industrial Painting/Powder Coating – 2nd Shift

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Production Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and painting steel fabricated and non-fabricated parts and assemblies. This role is required to maintain daily upkeep of production painting equipment, paint booth, and paint line. This position works under the direction of Production Leader or other manufacturing leaders.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Clean and paint steel fabricated and non-fabricated parts and assemblies.
  • Use and daily upkeep of production painting equipment, paint booth and paint line. This includes proper upkeep and cleaning of equipment, storage and management of paint materials and supplies, and proper handling of paint waste.
  • Monitors and maintains proper paint booth operations for air flow and heating.
  • Apply correct color and thickness of paint products.
  • Move materials to and from the paint department.
  • Responsible for paint equipment and ensuring proper paint and processes are used for each job.
  • Report observed problems to supervisor (bad welds, bent/broken parts, etc.)
  • Complete and turn in paint compliance sheet at the end or start of each shift.
  • Receives direction from team lead or another designated leader.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area and equipment and comply with safety requirements.
  • Must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Safely operate crane and/or forklift if trained and assigned and perform work in a safe manner and complete all required safety inspections.
  • Actively participate in cross training and continuous improvement assignments.
  • Work cooperatively with coworkers including training and knowledge sharing.
  • Learn new skills, techniques and equipment operation as assigned.
  • Receive direction from team lead or another designated leader.
  • Adhere to safety rules and guidelines.
  • May work overtime as production needs require.
  • Lift material and parts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Perform work in a safe manner, complete all required safety inspections and adhere to safety rules and guidelines including safely operate crane and/or forklift if trained and assigned.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma, or equivalent.

Experience with use and upkeep of spray equipment and systems, paint booth operation, and basic routine maintenance.

One year minimum experience is required.
